Corrections Policy

Corrections Policy — Express CBD Blog

Our Approach to Corrections

We strive to get things right the first time. When we don’t, we correct the record — openly, promptly, and without attempting to hide that an error occurred. Quiet edits that leave no trace undermine reader trust. This policy explains how we handle mistakes and how you can report one.

Types of Corrections

Factual errors. A wrong figure, date, name, product specification, or statement of fact. These are corrected as soon as they are verified, with a correction note added to the article.

Outdated information. CBD law, product formulations, and market availability shift regularly across our publishing markets. Content that was accurate at time of publication may become misleading over time. When this is identified — by our team or a reader — we update the content and note the revision date.

Misleading framing. Sometimes individual facts are correct but the overall impression a piece creates is not. If we determine that an article misleads through omission, imbalance, or framing, we will revise it and explain what changed.

Translation errors. We publish in eight languages. Errors introduced during translation — whether in meaning, tone, or legal context — are treated the same as errors in original content.

Minor errors. Spelling mistakes, broken links, formatting issues, and similar non-substantive problems are fixed quietly without a formal correction notice, as they do not affect meaning or accuracy.

How Corrections Are Made

When a substantive correction is required, we follow these steps:

1. Verify the error. We review the claim, check the original source, and confirm whether a correction is warranted. We do not make corrections based on opinion or commercial pressure alone.

2. Update the content. The article is amended to reflect the accurate information.

3. Add a correction notice. A clearly labelled note is added to the top of the article stating:

  • The date the correction was made
  • What was incorrect
  • What the correct information is

We do not delete the original incorrect text without disclosure. Where helpful for context, the original wording may be shown alongside the correction.

4. Notify the reporter. If the correction was submitted by a reader, we inform them that it has been actioned.

Correction Notice Format

Corrections appear at the top of the relevant article in the following format:

Correction – [Date]: An earlier version of this article stated [X]. This was incorrect. The correct information is [Y]. The article has been updated accordingly.

Anonymous reports are accepted, though providing contact details allows us to update you on the outcome.

Response Timelines

StageTarget Timeframe
Acknowledgement of reportWithin 3 working days
Investigation completedWithin 10 working days
Correction published (if upheld)As soon as verified — often same day

For clear-cut factual errors with solid evidence, we aim to correct within 24 hours of verification.

What We Don’t Correct

Not every challenge to our content results in a correction. We do not amend articles on the basis of:

  • Personal disagreement with a conclusion or editorial opinion
  • Commercial requests from brands or PR representatives without factual justification
  • Pressure to remove accurate but unflattering coverage
  • Unsubstantiated claims without supporting evidence

If we review a report and determine no correction is warranted, we will explain our reasoning clearly and respectfully.

Appeals

If you submitted a correction request and disagree with our decision not to act on it, you may request a second review by stating this in a follow-up message via the same contact page. Second reviews are handled by a senior member of the editorial team who was not involved in the original decision.

Proactive Corrections

We do not wait for readers to identify errors. Our editorial team conducts periodic reviews of published content — particularly articles covering CBD law, product specifications, and health-related claims — to ensure accuracy is maintained over time. When errors are found internally, they are corrected using the same process described above.
