Trying CBD Asylum’s 1000mg CBD Tincture

I’ve been a long time fan of CBD Asylum’s edibles and flavoured tinctures, so I was really excited to try their 1000mg Absolute CBD oil formula. Also, the fact that Express CBD is offering this CBD oil in a BOGO, buy-one-get-one deal made it an absolute must try for me. Good quality CBD can be expensive, especially if you are dosing on the regular. This was a great way to save a little on something so important to my daily routine. 

Savings aside, this product is incredible. Upon opening the bottle I was met with the most mesmerizing aroma. It had a bright citrusy and earthy quality with a hint of sweetness. This was likely from the terpene and peppermint blend, but honestly I couldn’t even pick out the peppermint notes because it was so perfect and subtly mixed in. This CBD oil has a gorgeous light-yellow colour, while still remaining crystal clear. 

Dosing and Effects

Though CBD Asylum recommends trying 3-5 drops under the tongue, I opted to take a slightly higher dose of 20 drops. While 5 drops equates to about 12.5mg of CBD, 20 drops (or a full dropper) is around 50mg of CBD. Their directions suggested holding the dose under your tongue for 2 minutes before swallowing. Typically, I have only ever seen instructions that recommend holding it in your mouth for 60 seconds, so this longer duration was intriguing to me. 

I really think holding it slightly longer made a difference in how quickly I noticed the effects. It took less than 30 minutes for the full effects to come on. Since I took a stronger dose, I noticed more of the mellow and relaxing effects, both physically and mentally. I could imagine a lower dose might feel more energizing and help with memory and focus in a different way. This tincture had me feeling calm and comfortable for hours. 

I’ve been experimenting with this tincture since that initial dose, and have found a full range of effects from this product simply by changing the dose size. Though it may not have the full body load of a broad spectrum CBD product, it was still a very relaxing and soothing option at a high dose, and a mental reset at a low dose.
