How to make CBD chocolate

This recipe caters to CBD lovers that are looking for the most medicinal CBD edible, while also offering options for those that want something a little sweet and dessert-like too. This way you can pick the perfect ratios for your CBD chocolates.

What you’ll need to get started:

Ingredients

  • CBD Oil
  • Cacao powder
  • Cacao butter (1:1 cacao powder)
  • Nuts or fruit (optional)
  • Sweetener (optional)
  • Seal salt (optional)

Supplies

  • Double boiler
  • Moulds for candies or chocolate bars
  • Rubber spatula

Making CBD chocolates

1. Melt oil based ingredients

In a double boiler, melt down the cacao butter. Chop into smaller pieces for a shorter melting time.

2. Mix in the cacao powder and sugar

Sift the cacao powder into the fully melted butter, carefully stirring and folding it in. Once fully blended, remove the bowl from the double boiler to add sugar in (optional), mixing until silky and smooth.

4. Finally, add your CBD oil

While the chocolate is still liquid but not steaming hot, mix in the CBD oil. You want to minimize the amount of heat the CBD is exposed to so it maintains its molecular structure.

5. Add any optional toppings for extra flavor and texture

Last, add any additional toppings like nuts, fruit, salt, caramel etc.

6. Store untempered chocolates in the refrigerator

Once ready, pour chocolate into your moulds and allow them to sit overnight in the refrigerator until firm. Since these chocolates will be untempered, it is important to store them in a cool dry place even after they are broken free of their moulds. This chocolate will remain fresh for enjoyment for up to three weeks.
